Oklahoma DOC Release Paths
ODOC operates state prisons, community corrections, and adult probation and parole. It is a statewide system separate from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office. A county detainee sentenced to ODOC may leave the jail when state corrections accepts custody. That movement is a transfer, not community release. Later, the person may parole, enter supervision, complete a term, or discharge from the state obligation. Each event needs its own label.
A parolee is out of prison while the sentence continues under supervision. Probation may follow a suspended sentence and need not begin with prison release. “Inactive” and “discharged” also should not be rewritten as synonyms. A state discharge can coexist with an unrelated county, federal, or immigration matter. The Oklahoma DOC record confirms only the correctional episode it displays.
| ODOC wording | Careful interpretation |
|---|---|
| Facility custody | The record identifies an active state placement. |
| Parole | Prison confinement ended, but supervised sentence obligations remain. |
| Probation | Community supervision applies under the judgment. |
| Discharged | The relevant ODOC obligation has ended. |
Search Oklahoma DOC Release Records
Open the official ODOC Offender Lookup. Search by ODOC number when known because it is a stronger match than a name. If only a name is available, compare the date of birth, physical identifiers, aliases, sentencing county, case, and offense history. Read every sentence row. Concurrent terms run together, consecutive terms run in sequence, and an old completed term can appear beside an active one.
- Enter the ODOC number or supported name fields.
- Open the detail record and confirm identity across several fields.
- Read the exact current status and whether the location is a prison or supervision office.
- Label each date as reception, projected release, parole, supervision end, or discharge.
- Contact ODOC if sentence rows or dates conflict.
The Delaware County release-record workflow helps determine whether an earlier county departure was an ODOC transfer. County and state records should be joined by the case and identity fields, not by name alone.
Oklahoma DOC Lookup Fields
ODOC public records can include identifying information, an ODOC number, offense and sentence entries, reception or start dates, status, and facility or supervision location. Live labels control. Do not convert a projected or tentative date into an accomplished release date. The actual event requires a completed custody status or agency record.
| Field | Use | Caution |
|---|---|---|
| ODOC number | Best search and matching key | Still compare the person and sentence |
| Status | Shows the current correctional posture | Keep the displayed term intact |
| Location | May name a prison or supervision office | An office is not incarceration |
| Sentence rows | Show cases, counts, and term history | Read all active and completed rows |
| Projected date | Estimate for an active term | Not proof of completed release |
ODOC also provides public data for historical research. It is useful for tracing status and sentence information, but a download does not replace a current agency check when the result is unclear.
Oklahoma DOC Records Contact
The ODOC Offender Information page is the official route to lookup, records, victim services, and fugitive information. ODOC Legal Services handles specialized sentence and closed-record questions. Use the ODOC number and sentence or case details in any request. A narrow description lets the agency isolate the term in question.

Ask sentence administration or records staff to clarify a passed projected date, multiple terms, or a status-location conflict. Do not select an explanation from possibilities such as later orders, detainers, revocation, or credits unless ODOC confirms it.
Oklahoma DOC Projected Dates
A projected release date estimates when confinement may end after sentence calculations. It is not parole eligibility, actual gate release, or final discharge. Credits under 57 O.S. § 138 can depend on class, conduct, achievement, jail time, and administrative calculations. Credits may be lost or restored. The 85-percent restriction in 21 O.S. § 13.1 applies only to listed offenses and the governing version, not to every Oklahoma sentence.
Sentence structure matters. Consecutive terms, concurrent terms, restricted offenses, detainers, later court orders, and misconduct can alter the outlook. Preserve the exact label and access date. If an estimate has passed while ODOC still shows an active status, contact the agency. The filed judgment establishes the imposed term, while ODOC administers the live calculation.
Oklahoma DOC Parole Records
The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board handles hearings and recommendations; ODOC administers custody and supervision. A monthly docket means a matter was scheduled. A results sheet records Board action. Neither proves the date a person physically left prison. A favorable recommendation may still require further action or processing, depending on the case.
Use the Board dockets and results to understand the process, then return to ODOC for operational status. Match the ODOC number as well as the name, read the document legend, and keep official categories such as administrative parole, medical parole, or commutation distinct. For a person supervised in Delaware County, the current ODOC-listed office is the verification route.
- Eligibility
- The point at which consideration may occur, not a release promise.
- Parole
- Release from prison confinement while the sentence continues under supervision.
- Discharge
- Completion of the relevant correctional obligation.
- Absconder
- A person alleged to have left supervision without permission; not ordinary discharge.
ICE Holds After ODOC Custody
A detainer can affect what follows an ODOC release. If a state record or source agency identifies ICE as the receiving authority, the state prison departure may be a handoff rather than community release. Search the ICE locator only when the custody history supplies that reason. No result must not be used to infer immigration status.
ICE's locator covers current detention and the prior 60 days of ICE releases. BOP and USMS are separate federal systems. Oklahoma VINE may help track participating state and county events, but it does not replace the federal locator tied to the next custodian. No ODOC prison, BOP institution, ICE center, or verified USMS holding facility was located in Delaware County.
Oklahoma DOC System Scope
The statewide ODOC page is not a Delaware County facility profile. It serves residents tracing people who entered Oklahoma corrections from the county or who are supervised locally. Geography does not determine the lookup. The source agency does. DCSO records the county-jail exit, ODOC records the state episode, the Board records parole consideration, and the court records the judgment.
Use each source for its own fact. A county transfer record can establish delivery to ODOC. The offender detail can show state status. A Board result can explain a decision stage. Final discharge may occur after supervision ends. When sources disagree, preserve access times and ask ODOC which active term or administrative step controls.
The official ODOC information page shown below is the starting point for the statewide status and records channels.

The image identifies the state source, while the live offender detail must supply the current status for the named person.
Oklahoma DOC Historical Releases
For a historical state release, identify the ODOC number and exact sentence row. Ask for the public status or discharge information tied to that term rather than all records for a name. ODOC's public-data download can help locate reception dates, sentence entries, and prior status, yet live confirmation remains essential when several terms overlap. If material is closed, ask whether a public part or current status can be supplied and which office controls the answer.
A Delaware County judgment may contain prison time, suspended time, probation, and several counts. Search the filed case by number through OSCN or ODCR and compare it with every ODOC sentence row. Time served on one county count does not cancel a state term in another case. A later revocation, acceleration, modification, or concurrent-sentence order can change the record. The court supplies the legal document, while ODOC remains the source for sentence administration and actual state status.
Preserve the meaning of each date. Reception begins the ODOC episode. A projected release date estimates when confinement may end. Parole eligibility concerns possible consideration. A parole date can mark release from prison to supervision. A supervision end or discharge is later. Combining these into one release field can make an active sentence look complete.
Oklahoma DOC Registry Discharges
Registry duties remain separate from correctional custody. Oklahoma's sex and violent-offender registries apply only when a statutory registration duty exists. A registry profile can remain active after ODOC discharge, so it neither contradicts a discharge nor proves current custody. The ODOC registry unit at 405-425-7601 and the documented discharge email address serve that specific issue. They should not be used as a general prison-release search.
When a registry and offender record differ, report each within its scope. The offender lookup shows the correctional status. The registry reports a statutory registration status and may display a photograph or address under its rules. Match identity carefully, accept the official disclaimer, and do not turn continued registration into an unsupported claim of incarceration or parole.
